A podcast dedicated to the journey of adult chess improvement. Each week a guest will join me to discuss what has worked for them, what hasn't worked as well, and the status of their journey.
Ep. 198 Justin (900 USCF)
This week on Chess Journeys, I spoke to Justin. His story is an interesting one full of quitting due to lofty expectations and a recent rebirth based on more process based goals. We talked about the Chess Dojo and using their heat map to motivate study. We discussed Justin’s tournament disappointments. We spent quite a bit of time talking about his success implementing the Seven Circles (Woodpecker like) approach to tactics training. We finished with a quick recap of my recent Washington State Senior Championship tournament.
