This week on Chess Journeys, I spoke with Chris. He’s a UK based chess player looking to improve his game. We discussed playing in UK chess leagues, getting into chess, and lessons with John Bartholemew. We also discussed his improvement strategies such as reading chess books, using Ankey flashcards, and reviewing his games with stronger players. We also talked about the challenge of tournaments and almost quitting chess after a difficult tournament.
